Paul Orchard is in his 15th year at Cedarville University and his fifth as head men's cross country coach. He served as the head track & field coach during his first 10 seasons with the Yellow Jackets and is currently one of the program's assistant coaches working with the distance runners.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off of their finest season under Orchard's leadership. They were rated as high as 8th in the NAIA national poll and placed 10th at the NAIA Championship. CU was the runner-up in the NCCAA, NAIA Region IX, and American Mideast Conference meets. The Jackets have finished among the Top 20 NAIA schools in the country during each of Orchard's four seasons.

The Yellow Jackets enjoyed notable success during Orchard's track & field tenure. He led the Lady Jackets to an unprecedented five straight NCCAA banners from 1994 through 1998 and one Mid-Ohio Conference title. He guided the men to the American Mideast Conference title in 2001, a Mid-Ohio Conference championship in 1994, and three NCCAA runner-up showings.

Orchard is a five-time NCCAA Women's Coach of the Year. He was voted the men's AMC Coach of the Year for 2001, was named Mid-Ohio Conference men's Coach of the Year in 1994, and was women's Coach of the Year in 1996 and 1998.

Orchard came to Cedarville in 1993 after spending six years at the University of Akron. He served as an assistant coach for the Zips' track and cross country programs plus coordinated all of their recruiting.

Orchard, who is an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science, is a 1983 graduate of Taylor University where he competed in track and cross country. He was a graduate assistant at Miami University (Ohio) and earned his master's degree from the school in 1986. Paul and his wife, Wendy, reside in Xenia with their sons, Brendan, 11; Ryan, 9; Trevor, 7; and Kyle, 2.
