Callan Athletic Center

Athletic Center

One of the finest small college athletic facilities in the midwest, Cedarville University's spacious Callan Athletic Center is the home of the Yellow Jackets. The building was renamed in February, 2003 in honor of former longtime athletic director and men's basketball coach, Don Callan. The A.C., which seats 3,500 fans for volleyball, was opened in the fall of 1981.

The Athletic Center floor was renovated in the summer of 1999 and now includes an all-wood surface throughout the complex with a parquet-style layout on the main court. The building features five volleyball courts, four full-length basketball courts, a one-tenth mile jogging track, a batting cage, badminton courts, and training room facilities. There are fine locker room facilities including separate areas for visiting teams, physical education classes, faculty, and staff.

The Athletic Center was selected as host for the 1999 and 2000 National Christian College Athletic Association national women's volleyball tournament. The building has also been the host site for NCCAA National Tournaments in wrestling and women's basketball. (Photo by Scott L. Huck, Cedarville University Public Relations)
