CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Daniel Rose patrolled the inside for 16 points, nine rebounds, and six blocks to lead the NAIA Division II No. 7 Yellow Jackets to a 74-47 win over Covenant in the opening round of the 31st Annual Cedarville Invitational. The hosts square off with Taylor in Saturday's championship game.
It took a while for the unbeaten Yellow Jackets to shake off the Scots, who led 17-16 with 10:45 left in the first half. Cedarville reeled off 11 straight points en route to a 44-30 halftime margin. A 10-2 start to the second half helped seal the outcome.
Ricardo Alliman finished with 13 points and seven rebounds for the Jackets, 5-0 overall, while Matt Harner was the only other player to reach double figures with 11 points. Cedarville turned the ball over just five times against 16 miscues for Covenant. The Scots, 0-7, were held to 30.5 percent shooting for the night. [STATS]
