Former Yellow Jacket golfer Ryan Bowen is in his seventh season as head coach of the CU men's golf team. He is the seventh coach in the 46-year history of the program.
Bowen was a four-year varsity performer with the Yellow Jackets during his career from 1988 through 1991. The Sterling, Virginia product was the squad's Co-#1 player his final three seasons.
Bowen was a two-time All-NAIA District 22 performer, earned All-Mid-Ohio Conference recognition once, and was a member of an NCCAA Midwest Region championship team. He became only the third golfer in school history to win district medalist honors when he accomplished the feat as a junior in 1990 thus earning a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. He also won three other invitational tournaments in his career.
Bowen, who also serves as the American Mideast Conference men's golf chair and the NCCAA vice-chair, is in his 10th year as a Senior Analyst in the university's Computer Services Department. He is a 1991 graduate of Cedarville with a degree in computer information systems and completed work in 2002 on a master's degree in Business Administration from Wright State University.
Ryan and his wife, Monica, who is also a CU graduate, reside in Cedarville. The Bowens have two children: a son, Zachary, 12, and a daughter, Macy, 9.
