Alan Edlund is in his 14th season as the Yellow Jacket head men's tennis coach. He has led the netters to 176 victories including ten straight winning seasons.

Edlund guided his alma mater to the 2006 NAIA Region IX championship and their first national tournament berth in 13 years. Additionally during his tenure, Cedarville won the 2004 American Mideast Conference South Division title, has registered nine conference runner-up finishes, and an NCCAA runner-up performance. Six of his last seven teams have advanced to the NAIA Region IX championship match.

Alan Edlund

Edlund graduated from Cedarville College in 1977 with a social science comprehensive degree. He played for the Jackets from 1972 through 1975 under NAIA Hall of Fame coach Murray Murdoch. Edlund was a four-time All-NAIA District 22 and All-Mid-Ohio Conference performer playing in the #3 singles position. During his playing career, the Yellow Jackets posted an overall record of 80-2, won four NAIA District 22 and MOC championships, and they advanced to the NAIA National Tournament each year.

Edlund was an assistant coach at Cedarville from 1976 through 1984. He was Murdoch's handpicked successor in 1995 when the legendary coach stepped down following an illustrious 28-year career.

Edlund has been employed for the past 32 years at Holiday Inn Springfield where he has held numerous positions including that of accountant, controller, personnel director, and even general manager. Alan and his wife, Kathy, reside in Cedarville and have five children and six grandchildren.
