Former Lady Jacket two-sport standout Kari Flunker joins the Cedarville University softball staff as an assistant coach.
The Florence, Wis. native is one of the most decorated women's basketball players to ever play at CU. She was a three-time NAIA Division II All-American and she helped lead the Lady Jackets to three national tournament appearances, two national runner-up finishes, and three conference titles. Cedarville had a 124-18 record during her career from 2001-05.
Flunker was twice named the American Mideast Conference Player of the Year. She is Cedarville's second all-time leading scorer with 2,275 points and the school's career leader in games played (142), three-point field goals made (338), three-point percentage (.458), and assists (644).
Flunker played on the record-setting 2005 Lady Jacket volleyball team as a libero. CU had a 45-6 record, won the NAIA Region IX and AMC South Division titles, and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament.
Flunker is a graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in multi-age physical education. She taught for one year at the North Broward Preparatory School in Florida. Kari, who is single and resides in Cedarville, was the head varsity girls volleyball coach at Cedarville High School for the 2007 season.
