The Rapid Fired Pizza Male Athlete of the Week (December 12-19) is men's basketball player Branden Maughmer. The 6-foot-3 senior guard from Chillicothe, Ohio returned to the lineup due to a hand injury to help lead the Yellow Jackets to a pair of wins at the Florida Southern Classic in Lakeland, Florida. Maughmer scored 21 points including a three-point buzzer beater to send the game to OT in the Cedarville 96-93 victory against Saint Leo on Saturday, Dec. 18. He added a solid 16 point, six rebound and four assist effort in a 82-73 verdict over host Florida Southern on Sunday night, Dec. 19.
