The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Female Athlete of the Week (Jan. 1-7) for the second consecutive week is basketball player Lydia Sweeney. The 5-foot-8 junior guard from Grand Island, New York averaged 18.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in a pair of G-MAC contests. Sweeney tossed in a team-high 21 points along with three rebounds and two steals in a setback at WBCA NCAA II #1 Ashland University on Thursday, Jan. 5. She followed up with 16 points and team-highs of six boards, three assists and two steals in Cedarville's 58-55 win over visiting Findlay on Saturday, Jan. 7.
