The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Male Athlete of the Week (Feb. 5-11) is men's track distance runner Evan Leist. The senior from Beaver, Ohio took nearly 20 seconds off of his school record in the 5,000 meters at the Grand Valley State Big Meet Friday in Allendale, Michigan on February 10, 2023. Leist's time of 14:05.38 currently rates No. 11 in NCAA Division II. He was also a member of the distance medley relay (DMR) team that finished in a time of 9::57.32 on Saturday, Feb. 11 which met the NCAA II provisional mark and ranks No. 3 in the Yellow Jackets' Top 10.
