The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Male Athlete of the Week (April 16-22) is track & field distance runner Evan Leist. The senior from Beaver, Ohio crushed the 5,000 meter school record at the Virginia Challenge on Friday, April 21 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Leist was timed in 14:12.34 to take nearly ten seconds off of the old record while meeting the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. He placed 17th of 34 runners in the 5K Invite event.
