The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Male Athlete of the Week (Aug. 27-Sept. 2) is soccer player Alex Long. The sophomore midfielder from Orlando, Florida scored the game's only goal midway through the second half and the Yellow Jackets held off visiting West Virginia Wesleyan, 1-0 on Thursday, Aug. 31. Long tallied his second goal of the season in a 3-2 setback to McKendree at Yellow Jacket Field on Saturday, Sept. 2.
