The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Female Athlete of the Week (March 10-16) is softball player Casey Berke. The senior pitcher/first baseman from Cardington, Ohio helped lead the Lady Jackets to a pair of doubleheader sweeps. Bertke fired a five-hit complete game shutout in a 4-0 non-conference win at West Virginia State on Wednesday, Mar. 13 in Institute, West Virginia. She followed up with a 10-inning complete game including 11 strikeouts in a 2-1 G-MAC victory over Thomas More at Lady Jacket Field on Saturday, Mar. 16. Bertke also topped the team in hitting in the four games with a .467 batting average (7-for-15).
