The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Male Athlete of the Week (March 17-23) is basketball player Jayvon Maughmer. The 6-foot-6 senior from Chillicothe, Ohio was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player as Cedarville won the 2024 NCCAA National Championship on Saturday, March 23 in Winona Lake, Indiana. Maughmer helped the #1 seed Yellow Jackets to three wins including a 88-72 victory over #2 seed Wayland Baptist University in the finals. Maughmer. who was also named to the all-tournament team, tossed in 15 points to go with eight rebounds and six assists in the championship contest.
