The female SUBWAY Athlete of the Week (April 3-9) is softball player Kayla Thornsberry. The sophomore righthander from St. Marys, Ohio tossed back-to-back complete games in 9-0 and 4-1 American Mideast Conference wins over Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Thornsberry did not allow an earned run and struck out 17 batters total in 12 innings of work in the twinbill at Lady Jacket Field on April 6, 2011.
