The Courtyard Marriott Springfield "Male Athlete of the Week" (Sept. 30-Oct. 6) is soccer player Carter Selvius. The 6-foot-1 junior keeper from Byron Center, Michigan continued his splendid play in the nets with two more shutouts (including four straight) in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action at Yellow Jacket Field. On Thursday, Oct. 4 Selvius blanked Lake Erie College in a 0-0 double-overtime outcome. He followed up with another clean sheet in a 1-0 upset of NCAA II #6 Ohio Valley on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 6.
