The Courtyard Marriott Springfield Male Athlete of the Week (March 3-9) is pole vaulter Tommy Ansiel. The sophomore from Warrenville, Illinois turned a personal-best performance to finish fifth in the men's pole vault to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship. Ansiel cleared 17-3 (5.26 meters), the third-best all-time at Cedarville, at the event held in Pittsburg State University's Robert W. Plaster Center in Pittsburg, Kansas on Friday, March 8.
