The Courtyard Marriott Springfield Male Athlete of the Week (Apr. 28-May 4) is baseball performer Peyton Eeles. The 5-8 freshman second baseman from Acworth, Georgia ended the 2019 season this past weekend with a 30-game hitting streak. He posted a .479 batting average (56-for-117) during the streak and his .424 season batting mark is the fifth-best in school history. Eeles joined the Jackets this year after a stellar prep career that included being named to the Georgia Class 6A All-State First Team.
