The Courtyard Marriott Springfield Female Athlete of the Week (December 1-7, 2019) is soccer player Bex Velloney. The senior defender from Chesapeake, Virginia helped lead the Lady Jackets to their first-ever NCCAA National title last week in Kissimmee, Florida. Velloney, named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player, anchored the CU back line as they posted four-straight shutouts in the tournament - and a new school record of 13 in a single season. Cedarville finished 16-6-1 - setting another school record for most wins in a season.
