The Courtyard Marriott Springfield Male Athlete of the Week (Feb. 23-29) is baseball player Payton Eeles. The sophomore second baseman from Acworth, Georgia batted .636 in three games going 7-for-11 at the plate. Eeles added a double, his first career HR and five RBI's to pace the CU offense in Auburndale, Florida. He registered 11 total bases for a 1.000 slugging percentage and was 2-for-2 in stolen bases. The Jackets dropped a 3-1 decision to Rockhurst on Friday, Feb. 28 before sweeping West Virginia Wesleyan 13-0 and 16-2 on Saturday, Feb. 29.
