The final Courtyard Marriott Springfield Female Athlete of the Week of the 2019-20 athletic season is women's soccer player Bex Velloney. The senior defender from Chesapeake, Virginia was named the 2020 Yellow Jacket Club Female Athlete of the Year. Velloney led the Lady Jacket soccer team to a school-record 16 victories and their first NCCAA national title! The Dean’s Honor List student in nursing was named the NCCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, NCCAA All-America First Team, United Soccer Coaches Division II Midwest Region First Team, NCCAA Midwest Region First Team, G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year, All-G-MAC First Team, and All-Ohio. For her work in the classroom, she was selected United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women’s Scholar All-America Third Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, two-time Academic All-Ohio, two-time NCCAA Scholar Athlete, and two-time G-MAC Academic Team.
