The final Courtyard Marriott Springfield Male Athlete of the Week of the 2019-20 athletic season is baseball player Payton Eeeles. The sophomore second baseman from Acworth, Georgia was named the 2020 Yellow Jacket Club Male Athlete of the Year. Eeles was an NCAA Division II Player of the Year candidate for the Cedarville baseball team in 2020. A civil engineering major, Eeles was named to the 2019 CCA Division II All-America Third Team, NCCAA All-America Second Team, NCCAA Midwest Region Team, ABCA/Rawlings Division II Midwest Region First Team, CCA Division II Midwest Region First Team, All-G-MAC First Team, and G-MAC Freshman of the Year! He led the league with a .424 batting average and 27 stolen bases plus ended the season with a school-record 30-game hitting streak. He was leading the 2020 team with a .396 batting average and seven stolen bases.
