CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets came up just short in their bid to win the Ohio Independent Championship as Walsh held on for a 5-4 victory at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex.

Cedarville trailed 2-1 coming out of doubles. Maryssa Herbert and Chelsea Diamond were good for an 8-3 win at the #3 position.

Three singles matches were decided by three sets and the Lady Jackets won two of them. Joy Dice pulled out a 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 decision at the #3 spot while #5 Herbert rallied for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 result.

The other point for Cedarville came from #6 Lyndsay Stine with a 6-2, 6-2 final.

The Lady Jackets head to the NCCAA National Tournament May 8-11 in Mobile, Alabama.
