Yellow Jackets remain unbeaten in G-MAC

Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville maintained its stranglehold on the top spot in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with a 3-0 victory over Alderson Broaddus for its fifth consecutive win.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 9-1-2 overall and 4-0 G-MAC. They've allowed just one goal during their five-game streak and that was on a PK.

Cedarville's air tight defense caught an early break against AB when the Battlers hit the post when the match was just over a minute old.

The Jackets regained their composure and got the goal they needed in the 11th minute. Connor Gilmour headed home a nifty cross by Zach Harris in the 11th minute for his 9th tally of the season.

Gilmour's long ball over the top in the 55th set up CU's second score. Christian Alexander ran onto it and tucked in his fifth goal with a left-footed shot inside the far post.

Timmy Waller, who was playing his first serious minutes in nearly a month, got the third marker in the 70th. Jared Newman and Joel Twinem assisted on what was the senior's second of the year.

CU's shot margin finished at 16-5 overall and 6-2 on goal. The hosts had more corner kicks, 14-3. Ethan Dewhurst made two saves and recorded his seventh shutout.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets host pre-season G-MAC favorite Davis & Elkins on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
