Box Score PHILIPPI, W.Va. - What a difference a week makes!
Zachary Harris' 96th minute tally gave the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 overtime result at No. 16 Alderson Broaddus in a key G-MAC rematch.
The two sides had played just seven days earlier during a cold and rainy Cedarville Homecoming with the Battlers prevailing, 4-2.
The winning tally developed after a Yellow Jacket corner kick was cleared out of the box.
Bradley Schluter lofted the ball back into the penalty area from 45 yards out and it deflected right onto the foot of Harris, whose low finish from eight yards was his third goal of the season.
A week ago, AB put all four of its shots on goal into the net. This time, CU's defense didn't even allow a Battler shot to get on frame.
The Jackets outshot the hosts 10-4 overall and 7-0 on goal.
Despite not having to make a save,
Paulo Pinto registered his fifth shutout of the campaign.
Quotable: Head Coach
Brett Faro"Obviously, we're excited to get a win tonight and get back on track. I thought they guys played really well on both sides of the ball.
"It had a playoff feel to the game and we knew it was going to take a moment of quality to get a result. We talked all day about creating opportunities to score a goal, regardless of how pretty or ugly it may be.
"We've been playing really well, but have been on the wrong end of some mistakes and defensive breakdowns. It was good to be on the other side of that tonight and we worked hard to put ourselves in that position.
"We know that kind of effort is what it is going to take each game from here on out. We are excited to get back to work with two tough conference games next week."
