Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The three-time defending G-MAC champion Yellow Jackets and Trevecca began the league schedule with a 1-1 standoff in two overtimes.

The two sides traded goals in the final 20 minutes of action to account for the final.

Two-time G-MAC Offensive Player of the Year Connor Gilmour headed home a pass from Derek Braak for his first tally of the season in the 71st minute.

TNU answered seven minutes later on a header of its own off a long throw in.

Cedarville, 1-1-1, outshot the visitors 32-9 overall and 10-3 on goal. It was a 12-0 difference during a scoreless first half.

Paulo Pinto was credited with two saves in goal.

"You expect battles in conference games. Trevecca knows us well and we know them well so it's always a good game.

"I thought we were really good tonight. We were sharp on the ball and created a lot of chances. Soccer is a funny game, you get unlucky sometimes, and that happened tonight.

"I'm really happy with the guys and we've taken steps forward. We're just trying to remind them it's a process. It's a long season, we'll keep moving forward, keep getting better, and we did that tonight."
