PHILIPPI, W.Va. - The No. 5 seed Yellow Jackets got an early goal by Cole Butaud and the defense held firm to beat No. 4 Alderson Broaddus, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of the G-MAC Tournament.

Cedarville, 9-8-1 overall, advances to play No. 1 seed Ohio Valley in the semifinals on Thursday in New Concord, Ohio. AB ends its season at 8-9-2.

Butaud's 25-yarder in the 16th minute and assisted by Bryce Childers was all the visitors needed. It was his first goal of the season.

Graham Sachtleben stood tall in goal with eight saves while posting his fifth shutout.

Otherwise, the Battlers dominated the stat sheet. They outshot the Yellow Jackets 25-3 overall and 8-1 on goal. The corner kick difference was 7-2.

Quotable: Head Coach Brett Faro

"It was an extremely gutty, gritty performance from our guys. We are really proud of the way they fought and battled tonight. AB is a very good team and we knew we were going to have to absorb our fair share of pressure and we wanted to make sure we were able to defend well.

"I'm proud of how resilient this group continues to be. Their willingness to keep pressing forward despite the continued obstacles in front of them is a testament to their character and their desire to play for one another.

"OVU is an extremely talented team and they've shown that all year. We'll do our best to prepare for them by Thursday."
