LAKELAND, Fla. - WBCA Division II No. 17 Florida Southern clamped down on the Lady Jackets' offense with a 73-42 result to wrap up the Florida Southern Classic at the Jenkins Field House.
The Lady Jackets, 9-2 overall, had their nine-game winning streak snapped.
The host Mocs, 9-1, took a 36-24 lead into the intermission and then held CU to just 18 points in the second half.
Baylee Bennett tossed in four three-pointers for 12 points while
Abby Wolford scored 10.
Stinger Notes:
- Bennett has scored in twin figures in every game and increased her career point total at CU to 985.
- It was the first meeting in women's basketball between the two schools.
- The Lady Jackets resume their slate Jan. 2 at Malone.
- The remaining 17 games on the schedule are all Great Midwest Athletic Conference contests.
