CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville exploded for eight goals in the second half and rode the wave to a 10-0 romp over visiting Ohio Christian in non-conference men's soccer action.
Derek Braak,
Josiah Fragnito, and
Keegan Wondergem netted two goals apiece as the Yellow Jackets secured their first victory of the season.
The opening half was much tighter ending in a 2-0 difference.
Cole Butaud finished off a pass from
Evan Kraatz in the 7th minute while Fragnito tucked away a nice fee from
Pedro Alvares for his first goal in the 32nd.
Cedarville pounded home five goals in less than eight minutes midway through the second period.
Sammy Kilimann,
Brian Wolverton, and
Guilherme Fernandes all scored in the final ten minutes.
Stinger Notes:
- CU used 27 players in the contest including Carter Selvius (58 minutes) and Ian Keil (32 minutes) in goal.
- The Jackets outshot the visitors 35-2 overall and 22-0 on goal.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 2-0.
- A three-game week is on the horizon beginning with G-MAC foe Tiffin at home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
