FINDLAY, Ohio - Cedarville and Findlay both surrendered leads while settling for a 2-2 G-MAC draw in two overtimes allowing the Yellow Jackets to break a school record first set 51 years ago.
CU is 4-1-5 overall and 2-1-4 G-MAC. The five ties surpasses the previous record of four established by the 1968 club and then equaled in 2013.
The Oilers, 6-3-1 and 3-3-1 G-MAC, got on the board in the 15th minute to grab the early advantage.
Alexander Narog answered from
Pedro Alvares in the 21st minute with
Trey McBride scoring in the 43rd for a 2-1 Jackets margin at the break.
It stayed that way until UF equalized in the 77th.
Carter Selvius made four saves in goal. Cedarville outshot the hosts 17-12 overall and 8-6 on goal.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville has four draws in G-MAC play. No other conference team has more than one.
- All five games that have gone to overtime this season have resulted in a tie.
- Narog's goal was the fourth of his career while McBride's was his first.
- It's the first draw in 17 meetings between the two schools. CU leads the series, 10-6-1.
