CEDARVILLE, Ohio - It took awhile, but the Yellow Jackets finally shook off Ohio Christian for a 6-2 non-conference men's soccer victory.
Cedarville, 7-1-5 overall, extended its unbeaten streak to eight straight.
The Yellow Jackets never trailed after
Nick Marculo converted a penalty kick just 33 seconds into the contest.
Mauricio Ochoa Vazquez' header in the 10th minute made it 2-0.
The Trailblazers surprised the CU defense in the 23rd minute, but
Sammy Kilimann answered for a 3-1 difference at the break.
It got interesting when OCU closed the gap again in the 55th minute. However, goals by
Mark Rowan,
Andre Salviano, and
Andy Volk in the final half hour sealed the outcome.
Stinger Notes:
- Rowan, Salviano, Pedro Alvares, Trey McBride, and Victor Pomelli all had assists.
- The home team attempted more shots - 40-7 overall and 17-3 on goal.
- The Yellow Jackets are 5-0-3 during their current unbeaten streak.
