INDIANAPOLIS, Ohio -
Ashlyn Huffman scored 13 points and
Abby Wolford chipped in ten to lead the Lady Jackets to a 60-55 Midwest Region non-conference win at Indianapolis.
Both teams are 3-1 as Cedarville claimed its third straight result while handing the Greyhounds their first setback.
The Lady Jackets took the lead for good, 49-48, on Wolford's basket with 6:15 remaining.
But, the biggest shot came from
Alli Roh. The sophomore post drained her first career three-pointer from the top of the key for a 56-51 margin at the 2:22 mark.
Huffman and
Isabelle Bolender hit two free throws apiece in the final 20 seconds to seal the outcome.
Cedarville had to erase a 13-point deficit to get the victory. UIndy scored 14 unanswered points early in the third quarter to build a 41-28 lead.
Stinger Notes:
- CU outscored UIndy 55-44 over the final three quarters and 32-14 in the last 15 minutes.
- The score was tied four times with 12 lead changes.
- The Jackets' bench outscored the hosts, 22-11, led by Stevie Johnting with eight points.
- The rebounding battle was a stalemate at 37-37 with Wolford pulling down nine boards.
- Huffman dished out six assists and has 24 in the last three games.
- The all-time series is tied, 4-4, with the Jackets winning the last two meetings.
