ORLANDO, Fla. - Cedarville rallied to nip Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then blanked St. Francis IL in a pair of women's tennis matches played at the USTA National Campus.
The Lady Jackets surrendered the doubles point to RPI by dropping all three matches only to recover to win four singles contests to claim a 4-3 result.
Singles winners were #1
Liana English, #2
Janelle English, #3
Rosie Thompson, and #6
Meghan Gallogly.
CU had little problem with shorthanded St. Francis in a 7-0 final. The Lady Jackets swept the singles and doubles in improving to 7-3 on the season.
They face Saint Anselm on Friday at 8:00 a.m. EST in the spring break finale.
Quotable: Head Coach
Alan Edlund
"After a weak start in doubles against RPI, the ladies came through in spectacular fashion winning four of the remaining six singles matches culminating with Meghan pulling out the game-winning match to break the 3-3 deadlock. We were able to close the St. Francis match out quickly. Great play at #1 from Liana!"
