CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville and Ohio Dominican squabbled for 110 minutes in the G-MAC men's soccer opener for both sides resulting in a 1-1 deadlock.
The Yellow Jackets, 2-0-2, complete their season-opening four-game homestand unbeaten.
The hosts scored early again.
Gui Fernandes netted his second goal of the season from
Pedro Alvares in the 11th minute.
The Panthers, 1-2-1, equalized in the 63rd minute ending a scoreless streak of 287 minutes by the CU defense.
The visitors had to play the final three minutes of regulation and both ten-minute OT's a man down, but the Jackets were unable to capitalize.
Carter Selvius was credited with five saves - all in the first half.
Stinger Notes:
- The Yellow Jackets outshot ODU 18-9 overall including an 11-2 advantage after halftime.
- The Panthers had the edge in shots on goal, 6-4.
- CU had a ball go off the post in the second half.
- Cedarville leads the all-time series, 21-11-4.
- The two teams close out the regular season on Nov. 5 in a rematch in Columbus.
