CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets blitzed Ohio Dominican with a 21-point first quarter run and rode the wave to a 77-55 G-MAC victory at the Callan Athletic Center.
Cedarville improved to 11-3 overall and 4-1 G-MAC in the first game of the new year.
After the Panthers grabbed an early 7-5 lead, the hosts erupted with 21 unanswered points over a span of 5:40.
ODU snuck back to within eight late in the second quarter, but the Jackets finished with a 10-3 spurt for a 49-34 margin. The difference never got below 14 the rest of the way.
Abby Wolford drained four three-pointers and finished with 18 points.
Alli Roh totaled 15 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots while
Stevie Johnting had 12 points on four triples.
Stinger Notes:
- CU's bench outscored the visitors, 37-13.
- The Jackets made 13-of-18 (.722) field goals in the first quarter.
- Ashlyn Huffman dished out seven assists - the fourth time she's had at least seven.
- Cedarville has won 20 consecutive contests at home.
- The Jackets lead the all-time series, 35-28, which began with the 1971-72 season.
- CU has beaten the Panthers four times in a row.
- The two sides meet again in Columbus on January 18.
