HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - No. 5 seed Malone opened up a 20-point lead and dealt No. 4 Cedarville an 83-73 setback in the G-MAC Tournament Quarterfinals at the Callan Athletic Center.
The Lady Jackets, 20-8, set their sites on the NCCAA Tournament with pairings to be announced.
It was the third meeting between Cedarville and the Pioneers and the visiting team won every matchup.
The visitors shot 53 percent in the first half for a 43-34 edge, expanded the bulge to 68-48 late in the third quarter, and the Jackets got no closer than seven down the stretch.
Abby Wolford returned to the lineup after missing the previous five games with an injury to score a team-high 16 points off the bench.
Isabelle Bolender and
Ashlyn Huffman tallied 11 points apiece while
Emily Chapman added 10.
Stinger Notes:
- Wolford scored in double figures for the 13th time in her last 14 games.
- The Jackets made ten three-pointers - the third straight game they converted at least ten.
- It was the second straight year the sides opened the G-MAC Tournament at the Callan Athletic Center.
- Following a 24-game home court winning streak, the Jackets have dropped three straight on campus with two of those to Malone.
- Cedarville holds a 37-15 lead in the all-time series.
