CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Gui Fernandes and
Pedro Alvares sparked the Yellow Jackets to a 2-1 result over Findlay in a G-MAC home night game.
Cedarville continues to inch up the league table at 6-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 G-MAC.
Fernandes outhustled an Oiler defender in the box and tucked in a low, 15-yard shot inside the far post in the 18th minute.
However, Findlay leveled the contest just 60 seconds later.
It remained 1-1 until
Victor Pomelli's chip from the right end line found the head of a charging Alvares, who finished it off from close range in the 69th minute.
The Jackets unloaded ten more shots than the visitors, 19-9, but had a slim 5-4 margin on goal.
Stinger Notes:
- Jared Zacharias had three saves in goal.
- Cedarville is unbeaten in four home games (4-0-0).
- The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 12-6-2.
- The two sides meet again at Findlay in three weeks.
