CHAMPIONSHIP INFO
ASHLAND, Ohio - The No. 2 seed Lady Jackets return to the G-MAC Women's Soccer Championship game for the second time in six months when they face host and No. 1 seed Ashland.
Game time at Ferguson Field is set for 3:00 p.m. EST with coverage on
Stretch LIVE and
SIDEARM Stats.
Cedarville, 12-4-2, got by No. 6 Walsh, 1-0, in a rainy semifinal on Thursday on
Mackenzie Northcutt's free kick in the 86th minute.
Ashland, 14-1-3, eliminated No. 4 Trevecca, 1-0, on a penalty kick in the first half.
Can the third time be the charm for Cedarville against the Eagles, who are ranked No. 15 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll?
Ashland was the only G-MAC side to figure out the Jackets this fall - twice by identical 1-0 scores.
The Eagles were winners at home on Sept. 25 and then got an 89th minute tally to leave Cedarville with a result on Oct. 9.
Since that last meeting, the Jackets' defense has been air tight in front of G-MAC Goalkeeper of the Year
Brooke Ackley.
CU has allowed just one goal (at Trevecca) in the last seven outings with six clean sheets.
Entering the final the back line has four straight shutouts with 403 consecutive scoreless minutes.
The G-MAC champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.
