CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville and Findlay sprinted end-to-end for 110 minutes and earned one point apiece with a 2-2 tie following two overtimes.
The Yellow Jackets expected a better result on the home turf after leading 2-0 at the intermission.
Gui Fernandes scored in the 16th minute from
Andy Volk and
Pedro Alvares ripped a 30-yarder off the underside of the crossbar in the 36th.
It remained a two-goal difference until the 75th minute when the Oilers converted a penalty kick.
The visitors leveled the match six minutes later heading in a corner kick.
Jared Zacharias made a season-high eight saves in the net for Cedarville, 4-1-1 overall and 4-1-1 G-MAC.
Stinger Notes:
- Zacharias stopped a penalty kick in the first half when the game was scoreless.
- Volk's assist was the first of his career.
- It was the third draw in the last four outings for Findlay, 2-1-3.
- The opponents combined for 45 shots overall, 23 on goal, 21 corner kicks, and six yellow cards - all season highs.
- Cedarville had the shot advantage 27-18 overall and 13-10 on goal.
- Findlay played the last five minutes of regulation and the 20 OT minutes a man down following a red card.
- Five Oiler field players and two from CU (Sammy Kilimann, Jonny Stephens) logged all 110 minutes.
- The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series, 11-6-2.
