CEDARVILLE, Ohio - G-MAC leader Malone made all the key plays in the final two minutes to beat the Jackets, 74-70, at the Callan Athletic Center.
The defending conference tournament champions got a big three-point play with 34 seconds left for a 68-65 lead.
The Pioneers converted six straight free throws late in the contest to ice it.
Kollin Van Horn muscled in 19 points and became the 58th player in school history to join the 1,000 Point Club.
Branden Maughmer had 14 points,
Jayvon Maughmer scored 13, and
Conner TenHove totaled nine points with ten rebounds.

- CU's seven blocked shots was a season-high.
- The Yellow Jackets held the lead for 28:38 compared to 7:53 for Malone.
- There were nine lead changes and eight tie scores.
- Van Horn joins Ten Hove (1,536), Branden Maughmer (1,445), and Quinton Green (1,079) in the 1,000 Point Club.
- Green sat out his second straight game and fourth overall with an injury.
- Cedarville's three league losses have been by a total of 11 points.
- Malone leads the all-time series, 60-46, which began in the 1958-59 season.
- The rematch in Canton, Ohio is set for February 24.
