Ashland comeback beats Jackets; claims G-MAC crown

CHAMPIONSHIP INFO

TIFFIN, Ohio - No. 2 seed Ashland made the most of its downwind opportunities for a 2-1 comeback victory over No. 5 Cedarville in the G-MAC Men's Soccer Championship game at Tiffin University.

The Yellow Jackets got off to a fast start in the blustery conditions when Jake Johnson tallied from Victor Pomelli in the third minute.

That's all the offense CU could muster despite a 14-1 shot advantage in the first 45 minutes.

The Eagles responded with goals in the 53rd and 61st minutes to turn the game around.

With the outcome, Ashland earned the league's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division II Championship.
