HILLSDALE, Mich. - Hillsdale rallied for a 10-9 win to take the second game of a G-MAC twinbill with Cedarville after the Lady Jackets claimed the opener, 6-3.
The visitors scored runs in each of the last five innings to win the first game.
Mackenzie Russell,
McKenna Smith, and
Adaline Ziehmer contributed two hits apiece.
Ziehmer's effort included a double and two runs scored while
Mariah Wallace drove in two runs.
Winning pitcher
Casey Bertke, 11-3, went the distance allowing two earned runs.
Trailing 9-8 in the bottom of the seventh of the nightcap, the Chargers strung together three straight hits to win it after the first two batters were retired.
Lexi Parsons had three hits with a run and an RBI for the Lady Jackets, 18-9 overall and 3-3 G-MAC.
Sami Buettell added two hits and three runs scored. Bertke totaled two hits and two RBI with Russell and Ziehmer each driving in two runs apiece.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville totaled 15 runs on 23 hits in the two contests.
- The top four in the lineup recorded 11 of the hits.
- Seven of Hillsdale's ten runs in the second game were unearned.
- The pitching staff's ERA was 1.77 during the four-game weekend.
- The Chargers lead the all-time series, 7-4.
