CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Jake Johnson converted a penalty kick midway through the second half and Cedarville's defense held firm in a 1-0 win against Trevecca in a G-MAC contest.
After
Andy Volk was taken down near the six-yard box in the 63rd minute, Johnson calmly stepped to the spot and deposited his first goal of the season into the right side.
The Trojans managed just one shot on goal, but reigning G-MAC Goalkeeper of the Year
Jared Zacharias made a stellar save on the attempt.
The Yellow Jackets, 4-1-1 overall and 2-1 G-MAC, had the advantage in shots overall, 11-6, as well as on goal, 5-1.
Stinger Notes:
- The Jackets outshot the visitors 8-1 in the second half.
- Trevecca attempted more corner kicks in the game, 5-1.
- Defenders Michael Payne, Jonny Stephens, and Brett Vaughn played all 90 minutes.
- Cedarville is 6-0-2 against TNU at home.
- The Jackets lead the all-time series, 14-2-3.
