CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Walsh never trailed in dealing Cedarville a 71-60 setback in a G-MAC women's basketball contest staged at the Callan Athletic Center.
Kat Weakley scored a career-high 18 points for the Lady Jackets, 5-10 overall and 3-6 G-MAC.
Lydia Sweeney netted all 13 of her points in the second half.
An 18-2 run covering the last 90 seconds of the first quarter and the first four minutes of the second spiked the Cavaliers to a 29-13 advantage.
CU cut the deficit to ten with the first basket of the second half, but the visitors pushed the margin back to 21 through three periods to take command.
Stinger Notes:
- Weakley had scored just 11 points in the previous four games before her career-best effort.
- Only 16 fouls total were whistled in the contest which was played in an hour and a quarter.
- Cedarville was 8-for-8 at the line with Sweeney and Weakley each making four.
- Sweeney dished out five assists while matching Paige Garr and Makenna Fee with six rebounds apiece.
- The all-time series began in the 1991-92 season with Walsh leading, 25-22.
- The rematch is February 23 in North Canton, Ohio.
