HIGHLIGHTS
CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Lady Jackets nearly erased all of a 20-point deficit before falling to Malone, 78-72, in G-MAC play at the Callan Athletic Center.
Paige Garr piled up 24 points for Cedarville, 6-12 overall and 4-8 G-MAC.
Lydia Sweeney recorded a double-double of 12 points and ten rebounds.
Makenna Fee scored 11 points while
Anne Wheeler finished with ten points and seven assists.
Malone sprinted to a 32-12 lead early in the second quarter. The Jackets whittled the difference to 13 by halftime and got as close as 72-70 with 1:05 remaining.
The Pioneers answered with a three-pointer and maintained at least a five-point cushion in the final minute.
Stinger Notes:
- CU controlled the boards, 34-27.
- Fee totaled seven rebounds and Sweeney was credited with four steals.
- The Jackets shot 59 percent from the field in the fourth quarter.
- Cedarville is 60-of-68 (.882) from the free throw line in the last six games.
- Garr has made her last 19 charity tosses.
- The Lady Jackets hold a 41-17 lead in the all-time series.
- The teams play again in Canton, Ohio on February 11.
