ASHLAND, Ohio - WBCA Division II No. 1 Ashland revved up the offense in the second quarter and pulled away from the Lady Jackets, 90-60, to remain unbeaten on the season.
The top-ranked Eagles improved to 15-0 overall and 7-0 G-MAC.
Cedarville hung tough in the opening ten minutes with
Taylor Stacy burying a three-pointer at the buzzer for a 15-13 lead.
However, the Eagles knocked down an incredible 9-of-10 three-pointers in the second period to key a 35-12 explosion.
Lydia Sweeney totaled 21 points for the Lady Jackets, 3-9 overall and 1-5 G-MAC.
Stinger Notes:
- Makenna Fee and Paige Garr scored eight points apiece.
- Anne Wheeler paced the team in rebounding with six.
- The host Eagles made 23-of-30 (.767) shots from the field in the middle two quarters.
- The two teams combined for just 13 personal fouls and 11 free throws attempted.
- Ashland leads the all-time series, 20-11, which began in the 1965-66 season.
- The rematch is February 16 at the Callan Athletic Center.
