CEDARVILLE, Ohio - West Virginia State prevailed for a 4-3 win against the Lady Jackets in a four-hour marathon at the Johnson-Murdoch Tennis Complex.
The visiting Yellow Jackets swept the doubles in what was the decisive point.
In singles, No. 1
Diana Ivanikhina improved to 6-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 result.
Other winners were No. 2
Abby Totten as well as No. 6
Faith Monson.
Cedarville, 4-2 overall, had its three-match winning streak snapped in what was WVSU's season opener.
