CEDARVILLE, Ohio - An 18-point run midway through the game sparked the Yellow Jackets to a 85-64 home-opening win over Southwest Baptist in the Don Callan Classic.
Jayvon Maughmer totaled game-highs of 22 points with eight rebounds for Cedarville, 3-2.
Tymoteusz Pszczola came off the bench with 18 points and was joined in twin figures by
Jacob Drees (11) and
Chris Rogers (10).
The visiting Bearcats held the lead for 18 minutes of the first half, but CU closed with a seven-point spurt to forge a 33-33 deadlock at the intermission.
The home side came out with 11 unanswered points after the break to take command.
The Jackets made 7-of-15 three-pointers in the decisive second half and converted 15-of-17 free throws.

- Cedarville controlled the boards, 35-22.
- The Jackets committed just six turnovers and forced 11.
- The hosts made 20-of-24 free throws and is shooting .811 for the season.
- Maughmer made all three of his three-point attempts and knocked down 8-of-10 shots overall.
- Defending G-MAC champion Ashland defeated Purdue Northwest, 87-74, in the first game.
