EVANSVILLE, Ind. -
Casey Bertke struck out a career-high 13 batters and limited Notre Dame (Ohio) to one hit in a 1-0 Cedarville victory in the Blue Bridge Battle at Deaconess Sports Park.
The Lady Jackets dropped a 6-2 decision to Missouri S&T in the first game of the day.
Bertke did not allow a ball out of the infield against NDC. The only hit was an infield single in the second inning.
She helped herself at the plate when she drove in the game's only run in the fifth on an infield single.
Faith Bergner singled with one out, moved to third on
Mariah Wallace's two-out single to center, and then scored on Bertke's hit.
In the rematch vs. Missouri S&T, freshman catcher
Camryn Taktak had two of the team's six hits.
Lexi Parsons doubled in the first run and
Kaley Clark followed with an RBI triple.
