CU bats go quiet in two Florida setbacks

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Lady Jackets suffered back-to-back 6-1 defeats to Wayne State NE and Winona State in The Spring Games at Legends Way Fields.

Cedarville fell into a 6-0 hole through five innings against Wayne State.

The lone run came in the sixth when Sophia Hevel's sacrifice fly scored Faith Bergner.

Arica Flaugher's double was one of the team's two hits.

Winona State plated three runs in both the second and third innings of the late contest.

Casey Bertke broke up the shutout with a leadoff home run in the seventh - her first of the season and seventh in her career.
