MIDLAND, Mich. - Northwood beat the Lady Jackets for the second consecutive year with a 3-2 G-MAC final.
The hosts built a 3-1 lead by breaking a 1-1 deadlock in the final minute of the first half and then getting an insurance tally in the 48th minute.
A pair of freshmen did the scoring for Cedarville, 4-2 overall and 1-1 G-MAC.
Kacy Rosenthal tallied in the 43rd minute for her first collegiate goal.
Katie Ulmer netted her first in the 51st minute on an assist by
Payton Fraley.
Shots overall were 24-16 in favor of the Lady Jackets and both sides had 11 on goal.
Brooke Ackley was kept busy by making seven saves and the defense was credited with the other.
The Timberwolves were the only league opponent to solve CU last fall when the Jackets won the G-MAC regular season at 13-1.
